Harper Mind Psychology

Telehealth Psychology

Sessions by phone or video, anywhere in Australia.

Built for shift workers, FIFO, and anyone whose roster or lifestyle makes a standing appointment impossible. For people a long way from the nearest psychologist, or too close to the only one in town. For anyone who wouldn't walk into a waiting room, but would call from the worksite, find a quiet room at the office, or jump on video from the shed.

What a first session looks like

What I don't do

I don't start with your worst day. You set the pace. If a question doesn't sit right, say so and we move on. "I don't want to get into that yet" is a complete answer.

Before your session

A link arrives by email and SMS if we're meeting by video, or I'll call you at the time we've booked if you'd rather do it by phone. Find somewhere you won't be interrupted. The car in the driveway counts.

The first ten minutes

I explain confidentiality and its limits before anything else, so you know where you stand. Then I ask what brought you here, and what's been going on lately. That's it. No test, no right way to answer.

The back half

We work out what you want to be different. Not a diagnosis, a direction. I take notes as we go and you can ask what's in them at any time. Around 50 minutes, and I'll flag when we're near the end so nothing gets cut off mid sentence.

Afterwards

You decide whether to book again. No obligation and no package to sign up to. Most people start fortnightly.

Not an Emergency or Urgent Crisis Service

If you are experiencing immediate danger or acute crisis, call 000. For 24/7 support call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467.
